Your Financial health is directly related to your physical and mental health. If your finances are a mess your body and mind will be as well. Stress from not having enough or sudden emergencies that you can’t cover. And you may find that living on a budget is not easy with a family. But there are ways that you can still save your budget from financial disaster. You can cut monthly expenses to put money aside for emergencies, pay off credit card debt, regain financial freedom, and spend more time with your family.

There is also the other side of that coin, your kids are grown and have their own families, so now is the perfect time to start trimming your monthly expenses. As we get older and see that retirement is just a year or two away, we realize we need to look at our finances with a microscope. You can still live comfortably but a little more frugally so retirement can be a reality and not just a dream.

You need to see the bigger financial picture, if you are not aware of what you’re spending your money on, you won’t see where you can cut frivolous expenses.
