Each year Americans invest big bucks on prescriptions for antibiotics and unfortunately, much of this cash is wasted. Antibiotics can destroy “friendly” bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidus which aid the digestive system and may help prevent infection by “unfriendly” microorganisms.
According to Marc Lappe Ph.D. in “Germs That Won’t Die” Every year patients in hospitals die from antibiotic-resistant microbes and visitors who are free of serious infections are exposed to any creepy crawlies simply by entering a hospital.
